Drumnigh Housing Project, Dublin
Project Description:
Located in Portmarnock, this project comprises a development of 30 houses. The aim is to create a safe, sustainable and functional environment for residents. The project seeks to bridge the gap between the existing landscape and the proposed development so that a tangible relationship exists between the new and the old.
The spatial landscape is orientated around comfort, safe play and an experiential journey through the site. The development takes advantage of existing features including landscape, wildlife and site orientation. The orientation of the dwellings and the arrangement of their internal layouts has been considered to take full advantage of solar gain and so as to be readily adaptable to meet the future needs of their occupants.
The development seeks to create a built environment which promotes high quality design, safe and secure place making, universal accessibility and sustainability.
