Project Description:

This design brief was to create a residential scheme of 20no. 1-bedroom dual aspect apartments and a residents community room for FOLD Housing Ireland. The design approach was constrained by a number of factors on site, not least the Citywest Campus Luas Station to the north of the site.

The apartments were all universally designed for adaptability depending on the end user’s needs.  To address the constraints on site the apartment plans are stepped ‘in and out’ which has in-turn supported the considered locations for the private balconies/terraces. External circulation walkways have introduced a sociable aspect to the project for the residents to meet and greet. A high-quality landscape garden for the enjoyment of the residents sits on the sunny south elevation with direct connection to the resident’s community room.
